Michael L. Hoffman is the Principal and Founder of Longhorn III Investments, LLC. Longhorn is an originator and loan servicer. Longhorn began originating loans in July of 2008 and has since sourced over 8500 loans with a note value of over $1.5 billion. Mike is also the manager of Trident Realty Investments, LLC, a private equity fund with over 354 investors and over $155 million in capital. Trident funds Longhorn loans. Mike also manages a law firm whose primary focus is real estate transactions and is a fee office of Chicago Title.
Prior to starting Longhorn, Mike was in private practice managing a firm whose practices included real estate, personal injury litigation, corporate structure, estate planning, and tax law. Mike has been a licensed attorney since 1994.
He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a B.A. in Government in 1991, and then graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1994.
Jeremiah has been a member of our team since October of 2010. He took on the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2014 to focus on implementing operational processes and procedures designed to create a seamless real estate transaction for our borrowers. He works with our staff, borrowers, and investors to ensure the highest level of professionalism in our products and services.
Prior to joining the organization Jeremiah was as a founding member and President of TriCentury Title, LLC a Fort Worth based privately held title agency. In that role he was responsible for the oversight of all agency operations from sales and marketing to title and escrow operations. Before founding TriCentury Title, LLC he was Vice President of Operations for Solutions Title of America Corp a captive audience whole owned subsidiary of Aegis Mortgage Corporation. The agency operated in over 40 states and closed approximately 2000 residential transaction per month. He started in the real estate industry with Electronic Closing Services, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Mortgage Information (SMI) a member of the Stewart Family of Companies who operated in over 40 states by providing real estate information services to lenders, title agents, and real estate professionals. In his last role with SMI he served as Associate Vice President of Quality Assurance. Jeremiah was responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs designed to exceed all applicable regulatory and customer SLA requirements. Over the years he has served on several committees with the Texas Land Title Association with a focus on education for the Texas land title industry.
Chris Collins joined the Longhorn team as Controller in June 2013 after spending 11 years with JCPenney in various Finance and Accounting roles. In his current role as Chief Financial Officer, Chris leads the finance team and actively plans our growth. He focuses on financial planning, forecasting, and managing our capital roll and debt facilities.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Accounting and Information Management. Chris resides in Far North Dallas with his wife, Ashley, and their two sons. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending free time with his family outside, including growing super hots.
Jeff is the Chief Lending Officer for Longhorn Investments, where he has responsibility for our loan production, including Sales & Marketing, Processing, and Underwriting. He is an experienced real estate investor and was most recently Managing Director of SkyBeam Capital, where he led the firm’s Sales & Marketing, Loan Processing, Underwriting, and Asset Management. As the first employee at SkyBeam, Jeff helped develop its loan products, go-to-market strategies, operational processes, and staff development until SkyBeam joined forces with Longhorn. Before SkyBeam, Jeff was a full-time real estate investor in hundreds of residential transactions. Before his real estate career, Jeff had a 25+ year career in Information Technology, where he was a VP and then Principal at several different consulting firms, including national oversight of practices at Intellinet Consulting and Dimension Data. Jeff holds a B.S. from Wake Forest University. He and his wife Kathee live in a northeast Atlanta suburb and have four adult children.
Marcus A. Steen is the Chief Revenue Officer for Longhorn Investments. He is responsible for the global marketing and sales efforts including identifying new revenue channels and coordinating activities to ensure they align with revenue goals.
This follows his time as Chief Development Officer for ERISA Recovery, where Marcus guided the growth of the healthcare revenue recovery company by overseeing existing client relationships and developing new health systems as clients.
Prior to this, Marcus spent 20 years at the ambulatory care company United Surgical Partners International in several positions of increasing responsibility. As an Administrator, Marcus oversaw large, multispecialty, health system and physician-partnered surgery centers. He then transitioned into a Sales role where he developed and led the Sales function for all of USPI’s domestic facilities. Marcus was the Director of Business Development, responsible for developing new health system relationships, facility acquisitions, de NoVo's, facility and partnership mergers, relocations and syndications of the facilities with local physicians. He eventually became Regional Vice President, overseeing multiple surgery centers and surgical hospitals in the Dallas market.
Marcus earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and business from Arizona State University.
Eric Feldman is the Senior Vice President of Sales for Longhorn III Investments, where he has been instrumental in growing loan volume and sales for the company since 2015. He is also a Texas bar licensed attorney since 2006. He originally joined the team in September of 2013 as Lead Attorney and Director of Acquisitions for Hoffman & Kaliser, PC on a joint venture that purchased, rehabbed, leased and sold a portfolio of over 900 single family houses throughout Texas. Prior to joining Longhorn III Investments, Eric was a financial advisor with a FINRA series 7 and 66 license. He has an extensive background in the financial services industry working for Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo Advisors, where he was a member of a team that managed over $200 million in assets. In those roles, he implemented investment strategies and portfolio management programs to assist his clients in meeting their financial goals.
Prior to graduating from South Texas College of Law, he attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with a degree in Public Relations. Outside of the office, Eric is a die-hard Dallas/UT sports fan and has most recently volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America and BVB Tackling Alzheimer’s Disease.
Michael Prager joined the Longhorn team in February 2020 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Michael has more than 23 years of experience in building high-performing sales teams and strategic alliances, as well as developing and analyzing specific market and business needs. In his current role, Michael is working as part of the Longhorn leadership team to grow the sales and sales process to drive Longhorn Investments LLC's continued growth. Before joining the Longhorn team, Michael worked in various sales roles within Healthcare.
Michael received his Bachelor’s Degree in business and marketing from the University of North Texas.
Lori joined Longhorn in November 2023 as the Servicing Manager. She brings with her 20 plus years in software development, testing, training and implementation. She spent the last 16 years in Risk Management at MUFG, Union Bank. Her initial focus was managing the the implementation of multi-system processes to allow the bank to comply with several different regulatory needs, Basel III, CCAR, and Stress Testing. She also supported the testing of the development of CRECM (Commercial Real Estate Collateral Management). The last few years she was an Agile Product Owner over 14 systems that supported the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) program at the bank, which included Vendor Risk Management, Issue Management, and Security governance.
Lori received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business from UCLA.
David Clark is a Texas Licensed Professional Real Estate Inspector and Asset Manager overseeing the construction and draw process for Longhorn III Investments. Previously David was the Director of Construction on a joint venture and managed the rehab of over 1000 single family houses throughout Texas, Tennessee, and Indiana. Prior to joining Longhorn III Investments, David was the President of Inspectek Services, a real estate inspection firm performing inspections for home buyers for over 7 years.
Jon is a Senior Underwriter responsible for ensuring the quality of Longhorn’s loans. Before Longhorn Investments, Jon was VP of Asset Management for SkyBeam Capital, overseeing underwriting, construction draws, and REO assets. He has an extensive background in real estate and construction. He spent over 19 years with John Wieland Homes (now part of Pulte Homes), WCI Communities, and Holiday Builders as a Vice President in field and corporate operations roles. After the 2008 downturn, John spent 3+ years as Vice President for Rialto Capital Advisors, leading workouts for over 12,000 lots and 6,000 acres. During the last several years, Jon has been a realtor and independent real estate/builder consultant, overseeing the property management division for a single-family rental company with a portfolio of 1100+ homes. Before his homebuilding career, Jon served in the Army for 10 years active and reserves after graduating with a B.S. from The United States Military Academy (West Point). In addition, Jon holds a Masters in Divinity from Columbia International University. Jon and his wife live in a western suburb of Atlanta with four children.
Tracy has over 30 years of experience in banking and real estate-related industries. She joined the team in 2022 as our closer/funder and was promoted to Department Manager in 2024. She has been recognized by her peers as an outstanding leader with extensive knowledge and professional expertise in the Texas Title Insurance Industry. For 9 years prior to joining the team, Tracy served as VP of Operations for Excel Title Group. Before joining Excel, she held various roles with Aegis Mortgage Corporation, Stewart Title Guaranty Company, and Southern National Bank.
Lynde has been a member of our team since April 2014. She brings over 20 years of real estate closing experience and acts as Longhorn's Servicing Manager. In that capacity, she leads the loan servicing activities, focusing on collections and collateral management. Her team also handles all loan servicing requests, from sending monthly statements to processing payoffs and verifying mortgage requests. Before joining our organization, Lynde was an escrow officer for Steward, Legacy, Texas, and Excel Title.
